Please don’t misunderstand us: we love, respect and value our regular old terrestrial cameras. They literally pay our bills. But, these days, the video production industry is obsessed with aerial imagery, strapping a camera to a flying robot and launching that whole rig several hundred feet into the air. And we at Signal Film are by no means immune to this trend. In fact, we have embraced it wholeheartedly. Our DJI drone, operated by a fully insured, Part 107 Certified pilots can provide you with an amazing view of your subject in stunning 4k resolution.
Perhaps you noticed the emphasis on the qualifications of our pilot. This is a particular point of pride for Signal Film. In order to operate a drone commercially – which includes any form of video production or photography in which money is involved – one is legally required to obtain a certification from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). Our pilot has undergone this process and routinely follows up with continuing education. This means that the individuals operating those large, loud and potentially hazardous flying robots know precisely how to do so within the bounds of safety and FAA regulations. Unfortunately, the same is not always true of individuals offering aerial imagery services. Before working with any pilot, then, we highly recommend that you check their credentials and qualifications. In fact, please feel free to contact us if you’d like to find out more about the experience of our in-house pilot.
While aerial imagery can be an incredible complement to your other cinematic projects, they are also a useful tool for multiple other pursuits. Property inspection, real estate photography, surveys and a host of other complex tasks can all be accomplished quickly, safely and efficiently using our squadron of flying cinematic robots.
