How Creative Consultant Services Work

Put simply, we will review your project and offer feedback. Depending on what stage your video is currently at, this could mean reading a script or watching a fully edited piece.

After our review, you’ll received a written report detailing our thoughts on the project and any suggestions we have for improvement. If you would like, we can also meet and discuss our recommendations over the phone or via videoconference. 

Why Use a Creative Consultant

But, why would someone hire a creative consultant? We know from personal experience that, sometimes, you get stuck on a project. Maybe it just isn’t coming together the way that you hoped. Or maybe you don’t know what to do next. Or you might just want to know if there is anything you can do to make it just a little bit better before releasing it. Whatever the reason, the purpose of a creative consultant is to tap into the experience and training of someone else. 

Just a note on this, though: Our goal as creative consultants is to make your project better. We will never come back and tell you “Looks great!” We will have suggestions about something. Of course, we will always do our best to make our feedback realistic and relevant to the overall goal of your video. We’re not going to suggest that you start from scratch or completely veer off from your vision for the end product. All that being said, if you feel like your project is exactly what it needs to be and are entirely satisfied with it, maybe creative consultant services are not what you need. 

Cost of Creative Consultant Services

So, how much does it cost to bring Signal Film on as creative consultants? In our effort to be straightforward and fair about pricing, we stick to the same principles we use when bidding on any project. Simply put, our pricing is based off a $30/hr structure. 

With that in mind, we bid for consultancy based on how long it will take us to review the project and prepare our report, plus time for any additional meetings that you would like to schedule. Generally speaking, then, reviewing a 60 minute video, writing a report and then having a 30 minute meeting would cost $75.
